Marc Sedwitz, M.D.-Chairman of The Board

Dr. Sedwitz was elected to the Board in 2008. He is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla and is the current Chief of Staff. Dr. Sedwitz is Board Certified in General and Vascular Surgery. His primary specialty is Vascular Surgery. Dr. Sedwitz is active with the Endovascular Aortic Stent Program for Aneurysm Repair..

 

Steven Higgins, M.D.-Vice Chairman

Dr. Higgins was elected to the Board in 2011. He is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Dr. Higgins is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is the founder and director of electrophysiology at Scripps La Jolla. Dr. Higgins also serves as the co-director of the catheterization labs at Scripps La Jolla.

 

Sunil Rayan, M.D.-Secretary

Dr. Rayan was elected to the Board in 2010. He has been in private practice in XiMED since 2004, specializing in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Rayan has been the Quality Control representative for Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for one year. He has also been the Chair of the Endovascular Committee for the past two years and is Chief of Vascular Surgery at Scripps Hospital Encinitas.

 

G. Ryan Dominguez, M.D. -Treasurer

Dr. Dominguez was appointed to the Board in 2011. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Dominquez has a special interest in General Wellness and Preventative Medicine.

 

Pushpendu Banerjee, M.D.

Dr. Banerjee was elected to the Board in 2008. He was appointed as Chairman of the Board of XiMED Hospitalists in 2008. He is Board Certified in Medical Oncology.

 

Richard Brown, M.D.

Dr. Brown is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in La Jolla since 1993. He served as Orthopaedic Section Chief at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla from 1997 to 1999. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Brown presently serves as an attending in hand surgery at the University of California San Diego.

Bruce I. Covner, M.D

Dr. Covner is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician practicing iin La Jolla. He also serves as the Medical Director for XiMED Hospitalists. Dr. Covner is a multiple Top Doctors Award winner. He joined the XiMED Board of Directors in 2012.

 

Leonard Jurkowski, M.D.

Dr. Jurkowski was elected to the Board in 2008. He is on staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Dr. Jurkowski has a private Family Practice office on the campus.

 

Mark Sherman, M.D.

Dr. Sheman was elected to the Board in 2007. He is on staff at Scripps La Jolla and has been since 1994. He is a Board Certified General Surgeon and has served on the Scripps La Jolla Medical Executive Committee, as well as Chief of Surgery and on the Board of Scripps Health.

 

 

Donald J. Ritt, M.D. (Emeritus)

Dr. Ritt was one of the founding members of XiMED Medical Group and served on the Board until 2003. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Ritt was named one of San Diego Magazine's Top Doctors in 2005. Dr. Ritt was awarded Emeritus status for his knowledge and numerous contributions to the Board and XiMED Medical Group.

Harold H. Shively, M.D. (Emeritus)

Dr. Shively was elected to the XiMED Board in June 1994. He is Past Chief of Cardiology, Past Chief of Medicine and Past Chief of Staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Dr. Shively is a Board Certified Cardiologist practicing in the La Jolla area. After he resigned from the XiMED Board of Directors, he was awarded Emeritus status for his numerous contributions.
